Pastiche International presents its second all genre listening event. Experience an open minded evening of listening based music, covering an open genre policy and sound palettes that will leave your mind blown. This is a floor-seated event, we recommend you bring cushions / blankets as we might not have enough for everybody. Arrive early and get your place, seating space is limited!
GLENN ASTRO
We are delighted to host Glenn Astro for a special listening set going through his eclectic record collection and selection. Over the past five years Glenn has climbed from obscurity through a series with notable appearances on Boiler Room, as well as a his own Resident Advisor podcast and several high profile remixes, has also helped lift him into the public eye. In 2016 his collaborative album with Max Graef emerged on the legendary Ninja Tune imprint. In 2017 Glenn followed up with another joint venture Mini-LP on Money $ex Records with long term high school buddy Ajnascent oriented toward the Jazz and Disco spectrum of electronic music.
KUTMAH
Next up we have underground legend and Left-field DJ/Producer Kutmah, known for his broken beats, wobbly time signatures and spaced out samples. As the creator of the LA beat night ‘Sketchbook’ in 2004, Kutmah gave a space to artists like Daedelus, Ras G, Dibiase, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Teebs and Flying Lotus. We are so excited to hear his diverse and mind-boggling selection this coming Sunday.
KEI WATANABE
A recent discovery of ours was Kei Watanabe, Kei performs ghostly mystifying and electrifying improvisations of found instruments, shuffling loops and odd occurrences. Honoured to have her performing live for us.
NAO SHIO
Opening our event will be the wonderful Nao Shio, a new friend of the label and multi-talented strings player, Nao will be playing the traditional Japanese instrument ‘Sanshin’ along with experimental effects and pedals.
