African Acid
Is The Future

Maryisonacid & Dauwd

FULL LINEUP TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON

After immersing herself in the Berlin scene for several years, French-born Maryisonacid founded African Acid is the Future (AAITF) in 2014. It began as an intimate Kiez party at a post-punk bar in Neukölln, where she would deliver all-night-long DJ sets. Since then, AAITF has evolved into a dynamic platform that challenges the norms of the mainstream techno landscape.

Maryama Luccioni, known by her stage name Maryisonacid, is a French-Congolese DJ, promoter, curator, and the founder of the African Acid Is The Future label and party based in Berlin. With a distinctive approach to DJing, Maryisonacid seamlessly blends diasporic African sounds with groovy electronic tracks and techno, a style deeply influenced by her upbringing in Paris's Barbès district and her involvement in Berlin's eclectic and diverse party scene.

A constant presence in electronic music over the past decade, Dauwd’s creative journey has unfolded with refreshing unconventionality. Born in the US to an Iraqi father and English mother, and raised in rural North Wales, he grew up far removed from the club spaces he would eventually frequent. This unique background informs Dauwd’s perspective as both a versatile DJ and a continually evolving producer, blending influences that span cultures, genres, and eras.

Together with Maryisonacid they been digging into multi-cultural, global south sounds and building bridges between genres, contributing at their own level to widen the horizon on partying in Berlin. AAITF stands as a testament to the future of music—a future where African music is not a relic of the past, but a formidable force that steadily shapes the soundscape of tomorrow.
